Paver Patio, Composite Deck, and Artificial Turf Backyard Build

Most backyards have one thing going on - a patio, some grass, maybe a deck. What they rarely have is all three working together as one cohesive space. That's exactly what we set out to do here, and the result speaks for itself.

We started with a custom paver patio using large-format stone pavers laid in a clean running bond pattern. The curved border detail where the patio meets the deck is the kind of touch that takes real planning - it's not just functional, it looks intentional. The color tones in the pavers complement the composite deck perfectly, which was no accident.

The composite deck sits low to the ground and hugs the patio edge tight. We used a light grey composite board with a dark fascia wrap around the perimeter - that contrast gives the whole platform a sharp, finished look. No staining, no sealing, no annual maintenance headaches. Composite is one of those upgrades that genuinely pays for itself over time when you factor out the upkeep of wood.

Then there's the artificial turf. It runs the full length of the yard on one side, stays green and even, and requires zero mowing or watering to keep it looking that good. For families with kids or pets, it's a no-brainer. The turf butts right up against the deck edge cleanly - no messy transitions, no gaps.

When all three elements are done well and done together, the yard feels complete. Every zone has a purpose. There's space to entertain, space to relax, and a lawn area that's always ready without any effort. That's what good outdoor planning actually looks like.
